Turano river
The Turano is one of the left tributaries of the Velino river. It originates in the municipality of Carsoli from the union of two streams, the Rio Sant'Antonio and the Rio Valle Mura, whose sources are located on Mount Bove. The Turano flows through the provinces of L'Aquila, Rome and Rieti. Along its course it is dammed by the Turano Dam, thus forming the artificial basin of Lake Turano, before flowing into the Velino and crossing the fertile Plain of Rieti.
