What to see?
Forano preserves a great variety of religious and non-religious traditions that animate the summer and winter months and is characterized by a territory that attracts visitors and invites them to go walking, horseriding and cycling. The main square of Forano in dominated by the 17th-century Baroque structures of the Church of the Trinity and the Sauve Palace. Worthy of attention is in particular the Holy Trinity, donated to the Community by Duke Luigi Strozzi in 1682, typical for its exposed brick facade, an entrance portal with jambs and a lintel surmounted by a curvilinear tympanum. In the historic centre, the beautiful marble portal testifies to the antiquity of the building near the Ducal Palace (18th century), built by the Strozzi family on the ruins of an ancient fortress, which represented the first nucleus of Forano. The imposing presence of the Ducal Palace dominates the beauty of the historic centre and the surrounding landscape. The main attractions are found in the “Old Forano”, just behind the Ducal Palace. Leaving the village, along the Viale called "the promenade" stands the Waldensian Evangelical Church, a temple inaugurated in 1894 by Luigi Angelini, and the church of the patron saint San Sebastiano, built in 1627, under the rule of the Strozzi family. Two rows of mulberries planted in 1712 accompanied the people of Forano from Piazza Garibaldi (at the time Piazza del Gioco) to the church of San Sebastiano along Via del Passeggio.
